Introduction to Pottery

A complete introduction to pottery. Work through a series of pottery projects, learning various hand-building techniques as well as throwing on the potter’s wheel. Add sculptural elements and intricate surface decoration to create your own unique pieces of pottery.

This introductory course will give you time to delve into a range of projects and learn foundational skills.

Beginners Hand Building

This 8 week course is aimed at beginners, providing a complete introduction to hand building and decorative methods. You will come away with unique and beautiful pieces, each exploring different techniques.

Improvers Hand Building

This 8-week hand building course is aimed at improvers looking to build on previous experience with hand building to create more ambitious pieces. The course will allow you to develop your sculpting and decorative techniques to designs of your choosing, as well as recapping fundamentals.

Beginners Throwing

Learn the ancient craft of throwing on the potters’ wheel. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience with clay, our classes offer hands-on learning in a fully equipped studio. Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel, create your own cups and bowls and more!

Improvers Throwing

This improvers course is for those who have completed at least one Beginners Throwing course.

During the course, we will explore new shapes at the wheel, develop your existing skills and learn finishing and decorating techniques, such as handle pulling.

Wheel Throwing Taster

Have you always wanted to try throwing on the potter’s wheel? Learn the basics of how to throw pots using a potter’s wheel on one our 2-hour taster sessions. Give it a go and create your very own, unique pottery!
