Paper Clay Decorations

Join ceramic artist, Rhi Jarman, to create your own festive decorations using porcelain paper clay. 

Date: Monday 17th November,
Time: 6pm - 8:30pm
Tutor: Rhi Jarman

In this workshop, you will make your own festive decorations using a variety of mark making and texturising techniques. Rhi will demonstrate different design and decorating methods such as stencilling and slip trailing for you to create your own unique pieces. There is also the opportunity to add colour using underglaze and oxides.

Following the workshop, we can transparent glaze up to three decorations, and all of your pieces can be stoneware fired for you to keep and turn into beautiful hanging decorations.

Students will experiment with paper clay to design and create hanging decorations. Skills outcomes include 2D design, mark making, texturising, fettling and colour application.

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, or for novice or intermediate potters to gain confidence with new materials and techniques.  All materials and firings are included.

FAQs

Can I take my work home?

Yes, your unique piece will be glazed and fired in our electric kilns. Firing can take up to 5 weeks, we will contact you when your pieces are ready to collect.

Can I get a refund if I can’t make it to the class?

Let us know as soon as you can, if you want to cancel your booking. If you let us know more than 14 days ahead of the course start date, you will receive a full refund, minus a 10% admin fee. Within 14 days of the course starting, you will not be able to receive a refund, unless your place on the course is filled by someone else. If your place is filled by someone else, you will be offered another date for the workshop, or credit to use against another course.
